Dr Jennifer biddle showcases emergent trajectories of art, culture and
language from so-called 'remote' Aboriginal communities. The audacious dynamism of contemporary Indigenous art requires new forms of cultural analysis.
This lecture features current research projects within the Centre for Contemporary Art and Politics (CCAP) including the collaborative video works of Jennifer Deger, Tjanpi sculptural synonymous with the birth of the desert Central and Western Desert art movement, and paintings from Ngaanyatjarra and Warlpiri home lands.
Dr Jennifer Biddle is a senior research fellow at Centre for Contemporary Art and Politics (CCAP), COFA, UNSW.
