COFA Talks - Louise Fowler-Smith: Imaging the Land
Watch this on your iPod - Vodcast available here
Each year artists, designers, engineers, architects, and academics make their way to a semi-arid UNSW research station near Broken Hill.
An initiative of the The Imaging the Land Research Initiative at COFA, the site is the keystone of a focus on the facilitation, investigation and promotion of contemporary dialogue relating to imaging the land.
Co-founder Louise Fowler-Smith discusses the Initiative's committed to the advancement of research across an interdisciplinary spectrum of visual, conceptual and theoretical approaches to issues of land and land-based image making.
She also discusses her own practice - the photography of lone trees, and research that has taken her to nearly every state and territory in India.
This talk was recorded live at COFA on May 4, 2010 as part of the free COFA Talks public lecture series.
