Video is a powerful medium for telling stories. Guido Gonzales and Saif Jari are two refugees who found an outlet through video to share their own stories and experiences.

Guido Gonzalez is a Chilean refugee who was at Villawood Migrant Hostel in the 1980's, and Saif Jari is an Iraqi refugee who also spent three months in the detention centre. Together they co-wrote and produced the film "Villawood Mums", a short documentary film about life in detention centres. The film is told from their mothers' perspective to contrast their experiences a decade apart.

This talk was filmed on Tuesday July 26th, 2011 as part of the COFA Talks series.
