About our Courses and Programs

Since 2003, COFA Online has been innovating new ways to train academic staff in online learning and teaching pedagogies, develop engaging fully online and blended courses and programs, and teach in online environments. COFA Online is committed to quality in learning and teaching, and has established a strong leadership in the provision of  online learning over the last seven years through the establishment of a supportive infrastructure, the provision of comprehensive staff training and course evaluation and reflection practices. It brings individuals independently working to develop e-learning initiatives together in a unified, formalised and supportive community, to ensure the continued evolution and improvement of online education.

Studying online offers a flexible alternative to face-to-face classes for the busy student, and enables interaction and collaboration with students from different disciplines. If you are interested in participating in an undergraduate online elective as part of your study, please be sure to enrol quickly, as places are limited and they do fill up fast.

Undergraduate Online Electives

COFA online offers a wide range of fully online undergraduate courses in art and design disciplines. Students from any faculty in UNSW may undertake our courses as part of their own program of study*, and students from other Universities may also apply to undertake one of our online electives as part of their degree (please read the information here for more details).

The suite comprises creative disciplines such as graphic design, sculpture, textile design, creative thinking, spatial design, art curation, fashion theory, traditional drawing and digital illustration. For a full list of courses, please see the section of the site called Online Courses Available.

*INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS - If you are an international undergraduate or postgraduate student studying on-campus in Australia, you are not permitted to study more than 25% of your program online. It is the responsibility of each student to check with the UNSW student centre that undertaking a COFA Online course complies with the requirements of their degree.
