COFA Online Launches 'Lighting Essentials' iBook for iPad

COFA Online is launching a new series of free Open Educational Resources (OER) with a beginner's guide to studio lighting techniques. These resources are designed not only to help COFA students, but are freely available to students, academics and professionals all around the world. Watch this space for the release of more resources over the coming year! The resources come in a variety or formats as detailed below for added flexibility and learning when mobile or out and about on a shoot... 


 

 

 

Lighting Essentials

First in the series of COFA Online Resources, 'Lighting Essentials' is designed to teach the basic principles of studio lighting to those new to the area. This resource explores primary concepts involved with lighting for video, photography and other applications, using continuous light sources such as tungsten, fluorescent and natural sun light. 

Lighting Essentials is available in a variety of formats:

 iBook for iPad - Videos, interactives, galleries, quizzes and text 

  YouTube Channel - Share and embed videos on your own website

  iTunes Channel - Download videos to your mobile device

 iTunes U Course - Videos packaged with links and other information

Check out COFA's Online Masters Promo Video

COFA Online runs an internship program for COFA students interested in video production. Our last interns, the amazing duo of Jonathan Forage and Iman Irannejad from the School of Media Arts produced a one minute video to promote our Master of Cross-Disciplinary Art and Design program. This video has already been viewed over 13,000 times on YouTube.

Jonathan and Iman did a fantastic job of ciommunicating the essence of the degree - connecting and sharing knowledge with others to push creative boundaries. Take a look at the video below...

Apply now to study postgraduate art and design online in 2013

Study online in an active, collaborative learning community from where ever you are in the world.

The Master of Cross-Disciplinary Art and Design program, is a fully online masters by coursework program that offers you the flexibility to study on your terms, wherever you are in the world. You will meet other students from diverse locations, and work in active, collaborative online communities where sharing knowledge and ideas with your peers is just as rewarding as working with your lecturer. You can study full-time or part-time, and can choose to undertake the full Masters (1.5 years full time), or a shorter Graduate Diploma (1 year full time) or Graduate Certificate (0.5 years full time).

There are a range of interesting courses available in a range of disciplines to suit different creative interests. The aim of the degree is to push you beyond your comfort zone, expose you to new ideas, different skills and knowledge, and to teach you how to communicate and collaborate with people from different creative disciplines in order to create new creative opportunities.
